A note about tagnames

The database server that you will connect to in order to retrieve data collects data from the systems that control and monitor the performance of the powerplant. The control system needs to measure over 6,000 values simultaneously to do this, and every value that it measures is identified by a unique "tag." This tag is a short alphanumeric code that identifies the value being measured - think of it as the "primary key" for a giant database. While retrieving data from the page below, you will see a column with the tagname for each value. To retrieve the value, description, units, etc., for this measurement, you should use its tagname. (Tagnames are case-insensitive.) It's actually a pretty simple system once you use it a bit.

What do the different color lines mean?

The lines on the flow diagram are a simplified subset of the standard color conventions for process plants. Orange lines generally signify fuel lines, blue lines signify cold water (although the temperature of the water doesn't matter in this application), and the black lines signify airflow. Also, flows are always indicated by lines with arrows. (i.e. the indication for the stagnation pressure and temperature at the compressor discharge is not a flow, but just a "pointer.")
